I recently stayed at Avocado Cottages for two days, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Tucked away just 30 minutes from Madikeri, this charming, pet-friendly retreat is a hidden gem surrounded by nature's serenity.
The hosts, Madan and Preetam, are incredibly warm, polite, and hospitable, making you feel at home the moment you arrive. Their genuine care and friendliness add a personal touch to the entire stay.
The service was exceptional — the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, always ready to help with a smile.
As for the food, it’s an absolute highlight! Delicious, home-style meals that you simply cannot afford to miss.

Was pleasantly surprised by the stay and service at Avocado cottages.
I was traveling with my husband and our pet kid.
The rooms were clean, hygienic, and big enough to accommodate 2-3 ppl. They are also expanding with new rooms being built.
The service was exceptional, Subhash and chef Mr.Das made sure that we were comfortable at every point, friendly and accommodating to any request.
It's a total value for money, and will definitely recommend it.
The place is in Coorg, but away from the main city, peaceful, safe and nice.
Food options are limited but good and tasty. Also, will suggest the management to provide Wifi, something that helps to plan better when one is in another city.
Mr. Pritham, the owner, was acordial, available when needed and looked after our request if any.

This is the bestest place we have visited of all our vacations we had . The location was awesome...nice silent atmosphere gives you the much needed relief from the hustle we have in day to day life. Madan,owner of property was very cooperative...he even upgraded our rooms on the spot without charging us anything....the superb thing here is the food ...the food is cooked hot and served to you ...Sharath, Sanjay who handles the food section are gem...they do it as per your ask and are always cooperative..they even stretched and helped us with early morning breakfast as we had to leave early on the checkout date ...overall I would say it's fantastic place and if you are coming to coorg..it's the best place you can stay with family.

Excellent place to stay. Very friendly and service-oriented staff. Best place to enjoy the Scotland of India and the warm hospitality of the brave Kodavas. Looking at the size of my family, four in all, got an automatic upgrade from executive to deluxe cottage. The food? Yummy home-cooked food which didn't cost a bomb. Even our car driver was treated with a lot of respect. The location was a bit away from Madikeri. But that was not a show-stopper given the super friendly staff and the pristine nature the property is nestled in. Highly recommended. Note this property is very child-friendly as well.
Suggestions? Please include local delicacies such as Karumputtu, noolputtu, and Pandi kadi. Anyway, Keep up the good work.

I booked this place seeing the reviews and had a great experience here, living upto its rating. The owner Preetham and Manager Subash were very welcoming and courteous. Subash promptly attended to any need and also helped us in a tricky situation, and am really thankful to him!. The location is situated in a coffee plantation leading to a very pleasant and soothing experience. The room and bathroom was pretty well maintained and very clean. You can spend quite some time sitting on the sofa outside listening to nature and a perfect place to unwind during a vacation. The food is another highlight, be it the quantity, quality or taste, fresh and served hot. Would highly recommend this stay for your visit in Coorg.

I stayed at Avacado cottages last weekend for 3 days and it was an amazing time and my family, kids enjoyed a lot and worth spending time with them. Food was awesome and they prepared very nicely and served us with hot and taste was like our home food, cook(sorry forgot his name) incharge Mr Subhash was quiet in nature, very pleasent and super human being, he halped my family in all possible ways to make sure we are comfortable during our say. Finally, the owner Mr Pritam Shetty is super down to earth person, talked to us politely and listen to our needs and fulfilled it. Overall it was an amazing experience and we will surely viait next time. Hopefully next time we will have SPA, Pool, more indoor games, bonfire etc. Thanks, SR Raghavan.

The stay is in midst of coffee plantation, it was very calm and pleasant. We could hear the birds chirp & peacocks call in the mornings and there are lot of fruit trees and beautiful plants.
I must say that the home stay - rooms with essentials, washroom, exteriors were very clean. Service was really good, the staff were friendly and always welcome to serve the guests.
In terms of food, there were good options to choose from the menu. We tried both veg & nonveg food. Nonveg food was really delicious but veg could be more tastier.
As a coffee lover, the coffee was disappointing for me. Had high expectations since it is the land of coffee.
Overall, it was a happy & pleasant stay and its a great place to spend time with your loved ones.

ELATE, this one word describes my entire experience in this place.
To begin with, the property itself is located just a km away from main road. The cottages are located on a small coffee estate, surrounded by lush green plants and trees. The cottages itself are very cozy and comfortable, with all the emeneties provided.
The management makes sure you are provided with whatever you ask for. They have all the necessary equipments and appliances in the kitchen. They let you use the kitchen too
The place is neat, clean and quiet.
The food is freshly made and the tastes yummy. Every meal we had here was very satisfying.
Do not think twice before booking this place, it is worth every penny.

I stayed at this property with my family for 3 nights during Dusherra’22. It was a lovely experience with open spaces and gardens which were really well maintained. The staffs at the resort- Ramkrishna ji and Akshay were always available to cater to our needs and made sure our stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They prepared tasty food for us in homemade style.The property is pet friendly. The rooms and the cottages were spacious and really well maintained.
A big thanks to the owner Mr. Shetty who was really polite and made sure our stay was comfortable. A highly recommend stay in Coorg if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of the city.

Pros
- Clean, Posh interiors that were clean, aesthetic and felt like a resort.
- Subash was an excellent caretaker. Made sure we were comfortable and provided whatever we required. He was humble and hospitable.
- Breakfast items were Idly, Vada, Chutney, Sambar, Poha and Eggs to order . The filter coffee was rich and delicious
- The coffee estate surrounding the cottages gave a nice feel through nature. Early morning you can hear birds in the quiet.
Cons
- Location is in Kushalnagar. About 30 minutes from Madikeri where most of the sightseeing options are.
Over-all a fantastic stay. Best for Families and Couples.

Truly a home away from home, had a comfy stay at the cottage, hospitality of the staff was the best I have seen untill now, they even guide u to the nearest attractions and would listen to every request of the guest and try to fulfill it to the max sincerely.
Wonderful location in the midst of the nature, best place if ur looking for a peaceful time with nature.
Food was amazing would recommend to try chicken biryani - the best.😍
Rooms and bathrooms cleanliness is given priority.
Special thanks to the manager Mr. Gurudath took care of every needs and made sure of all the things in place.

Evening camp fire spot was the best in between the plantations.

Very well maintained and beautiful property in midst of coffee, avocado, pepper, jack fruit and many other plantations. So peaceful and refreshing... Rooms are big... bathrooms are neat and clean.... Great hospitality by care takers. Thanks to Subhash for being so cooperative and humble. Food tastes just like home... Having WiFi could have made it much better as airtel and jio network are not so great out there... we had our own car so faced no issues...but without personal vehicle access could be challenging.... About 30 min drive from dubare elephant park... all in all we are highly satisfied and will definitely visit again!! 😊

Wonderfully and peacefully located property alright in the middle of coffee plantation, we visited here in May 2023. Mr. Subhash who is the caretaker of this property is a gentlemen and very helping, he ensured that our stay at Avocado cottages is peaceful and joyous. Food at Avocado has been delicious and it was best compared to anything else from my this Coorg and Ooty trip (trust me their chef was wonderful). Property has ample parking space our Tempo Teaveller was also parked inside the premises. You can take a nature walk in nearby surroundings to have a feel residing in the forest. Overall a very good stay at Avocado cottages.

The best place to live and experience the real essence of coorg, the location of this cottage is very planned and good one can cover All the places in the Kodagu region through this place, in addition to this the place is away from the chaos of the city noise and wild-deep into the nature,it is situated just in middle of coffee plantation making the experience more ethereal. The cottages here are very very luxurious with all kinds of facilities .the staff here is fantastic on point and the chef also cooks remarkable dishes, it has great parking space one can be tention free about ones vehicle.the lighting of the cottages is absolutely heart melting and the ambience gives true experience of nature it has a great walk to space lawns and very fantastic place for te born fire nights on top of it the dining area is also very luxy.if your planning to come to coorg this is the best place you can live in

I stayed in this place with my friend for 2 nights. This was really comfortable and clean place. Freshly cooked delicious food, breakfast was average but not much to complain. Food from menu were all great. The host Madhan as well as all other staffs were very kind and always ready to help. All help requested were on your door step and any concerns were sorted immediately. Host also helped us arrange cab services to tour around. Initially wifi was a trouble, then host madhan helped us to change the room with better service at no additional charge. Overall its a good comfortable and safe stay.

Well I keep visiting Kodagu with friends quite often, as it's one of our favourite place for a weekend get away, that extends to me doing extreme research about my stay, and hands down this is the best i have been in so far!
Hospitality, Food, Room, Staff Service, Cleanliness is a big tick in my books and had exceeded all of our expectations
Surprisingly and on a pleasant note both Manager and the owner (Mr. Preetham) , were very involved to make sure our stay was comfortable and were extremely quick in reverting and fulfilling on whatever we need.
Highly recommend it, infact this is probably the best cottage you'll find in Kodagu

I had an excellent stay here! The cleanliness was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. The ambience was very pleasant, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
I loved that there’s an option for food delivery directly to the room, which was very convenient. In the evenings, they arrange a campfire, and there’s plenty of open space for a relaxing walk.
The location is perfect — very close to many tourist attractions like Nisargadhama, Elephant Camp, Chikli Hole, Madikeri, and more. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality and service provided.

I recently stayed at Avocado Cottages in Coorg, and it exceeded all my expectations. Located perfectly between the Dubare Elephant Camp and Madikeri town, the cottage provided a serene escape. We had an amazing stay at Avocado Resort. The property is beautifully located right in the middle of the jungle, which gives you a complete nature and peaceful vibe.
We booked a villa, and it was extremely comfortable and well-maintained. The food was absolutely delicious, and special thanks to Madan ji for being such a warm and helpful host. He made sure everything was taken care of, even during frequent power cuts, thanks to the generator backup, we didn’t face any major issues.
We also really appreciated the small gestures like the jackfruit and evening tea & coffee.
There’s a jungle walk nearby, which is a must-try if you want that raw forest experience. The resort is easy to reach, the road is good, and parking space is also sufficient.
Another big plus is that Harangi Backwaters is just around 8 km away, making it a perfect nearby spot to explore.
Overall, a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. Definitely a must-visit place if you’re looking to relax in nature. 🌿✨
